Yashmith plays a key role in Karan’s film

Talking about the film, Yashmith says, “The story revolves around the sequences that happen in one night. I come in the flashback portions. It is an interesting film with several twists and turns. Though it is a short role, I enjoyed working on this project.” The actor is also gearing up for the release of Yendha Nerathilum, a horror-thriller directed by debutant Muthukumar. “The story revolves around four characters played by Ramakrishnan, Leema Babu, Sandra Amy and I. We shot primarily in Chennai and Ooty. We are planning to release the film by September end or October,” says Yashmith. Ask him if he has signed any other film, and he says, “I have been listening to a lot of scripts. I am yet to sign on the dotted line. Yashmith’s next is also a Horror film

Actor Yashmith, who is best known for his work in the hor ror film Yoogan, has wrapped up shooting for his next film, which interestingly, is a film in the horror genre, too. Titled Yendha Nerathilum, this film, directed by debutant Muthukumar, features Adhi Ramakrishnan (of Goripalayam fame) and Leema Babu, in addition to newcomer Sandra Amy . “The script was interesting for me, because the central character in the film is a kid, and the entire story revolves around him,“ says Yashmith, adding that the film was wrapped up just a couple of days ago. “We began shooting on January 29. We shot in Chennai first, and then in Kothagiri. There are only a few portions left -basically patchwork -but the shoot is more or less done.“ Interestingly, what is getting Yashmith noticed is a music video featuring him and Shwetha Shekhar, which was released recently . Bring It On, Campus Rockers!

If there’s one word to describe the auditions at SRM University , Ramapuram -it can only be `electrifying’. The enthusiastic students of the college made a beeline to participate in the Clean & Clear Chennai Times Fresh Face 2015. While some were spotted rehearsing before the event, others confidently took over the stage when their names were called out. The judges, actor Yashmith and RJ Nandini, were pleasantly surprised to see the youngsters display a wide canvas of talents. R Sunil Subramanian, who played both fast and slow numbers on keys emerged as the winner among boys. The first runner-up Sauradeep Ganguly’s beat-boxing skills not only impressed the audiences, but the judges, too. Meanwhile, Vatsalya Brahmabhatt’s flawless singing earned him the second runner-up title. Among girls, VS Sahana won the winner’s title as she impressed the judges with her vibrant dance moves. Somdutta Das’s soothing rendition of a Hindi number and Ishweriavalli’s classical dance performance made them win the first and the second runners-up titles, respectively. Reason to party? Birthday da

What’s a birthday without lots of friends and a huge bash, right? And that’s exactly what actress Sakshi Agarwal did on her birthday a few days ago. She organised a party for friends and acquaintances at a banquet hall in a plush hotel in the city and had a blast. There was music, lots of masti, dancing, ribbing, and good fun at this event. The DJ kept the volume up, and lured most of them onto the dance floor. The birthday girl, Sakshi, was dressed in a gold-and-green short dress, and looked ravishing. She accepted everyone’s warm wishes graciously, and as the cake was cut, made sure everyone got a slice. Among others present, there was Yashmith, who stood out in his designer silver-trimmed shirt. Sakshi’s Big Birthday Bash

Actress Sakshi Agarwal celebrated her birthday recently at a watering hole with her close friends in attendance. She was seen glowing in her navy blue and gold dress designed by Sidney Sladen who was also present. He was seen having an animated conversation with designer Chaitanya Rao. Ladies turned up the glam quotient in their pretty outfits – while Leena looked gorgeous in a short white dress paired with ballerina flats, Ishaara looked pretty in her all black ensemble paired with a long chain. Samiksha and Vani were all smiles for the shutterbugs while Nirosha seemed to be enjoying the party. Designing Dreams

The recently concluded Chennai Fashion Week is the talk of the town. Among the participating labels were Ritu Kumar, Studio 9696, Swathi, Mathusha and Indrajith, whose latest collections searched the ramp, choreographed by Karun Raman. Former Miss India Rochelle Maria Rao, who was the face of CFW, walked the ramp as a showstopper. Another famous face seen was model and actor Parvathy Omanakuttan,l the showstopper for Swathi Purushothaman’s label. Nandita Shwetha and Divya Dharshini also walked the ramp as showstoppers for Ritu Kumar and Studio 9696’s labels, respectively. The haute-couture event drew fashionistas and industry-biggies by the throngs, all dressed to impress. Chaitanya Rao was spotted chatting with Tina Vincent, while stylist Prajanya Anand mingled with friends and peers. Naveen Kumar was at the event with his wife Malashree, who looked resplendent in magenta, red and gold silk sari. Royal Purple Ruled This Jazzy City Party

When it is attended by fashion gurus and models, it is quite expected that the do will be high on fashion and glam. This was one such party that Chennai witnessed a few days ago. Our lensman got on his frame the who’s who of Chennai fashion circuit like Karun, Rochelle, Sameea and Sonia, who were spotted at this watering hole. The party also witnessed guys grooving on the dance floor as the DJ spun out some pulsating tracks from his console. However, the highlight of the night was fashion. The decked-up guests had nothing but fashion to dis cuss. Going by the outfits many sported at the do, purple seems to be the colour of the season. Yashmith, Karun, Sameea, Rochelle -all of them sported outfits in different shades of purple. And a few like Deepa, Shalini and Sujata, jazzed up their overall looks with floral headdresses. The launch of a new Essentuals salon in the city recently was a glitzy one. The chief guest for the evening was actor Dhanush, who made it a point to be there to launch his stylist Dev’s entrepreneurial journey.
