Actor Yashmith, who is best known for his work in the hor ror film Yoogan, has wrapped up shooting for his next film, which interestingly, is a film in the horror genre, too. Titled Yendha Nerathilum, this film, directed by debutant Muthukumar, features Adhi Ramakrishnan (of Goripalayam fame) and Leema Babu, in addition to newcomer Sandra Amy . “The script was interesting for me, because the central character in the film is a kid, and the entire story revolves around him,“ says Yashmith, adding that the film was wrapped up just a couple of days ago. “We began shooting on January 29. We shot in Chennai first, and then in Kothagiri. There are only a few portions left -basically patchwork -but the shoot is more or less done.“
Interestingly, what is getting Yashmith noticed is a music video featuring him and Shwetha Shekhar, which was released recently . The video, is a cover version of Chillena from Raja Rani, performed by a city band called Chennai Street Band, and directed by Arun Balaji, for Put Chutney, the group behind the What If Batman Was From Chennai video. Says Yashmith, “We wanted to do a music video where the central theme was love, and we approached Put Chutney . It was them, in fact, who suggested that we do a cover instead of a single. After going through about 200 songs (all of which they had the rights to), we zeroed in on four songs, out of which we chose Chillena to do a cover of. We shot the video in a matter of hours, as the team was very professional about the whole thing and had it planned to the last detail.“ Director Atlee (who made Raja Rani), too, has shared the video, says Yashmith, which is now doing the rounds on social media.
